Homesteading Hive is a small backyard homestead in Metro Detroit. From beekeeping to gardening and canning, we do what we can within our suburban yard. Over the years our garden has continued to grow from container gardens to raised garden beds and everything in between. We grow as much as we can within the small city lot we have which is about 1/10th of an acre, and preserve what we can to enjoy our harvest throughout the colder winter months.
We’re doing what we can to work with the amount of land we have and provide our home with healthy and delicious food options, all within our city’s codes and regulations.
Our goal is to help our readers do the same! It doesn’t matter how big your yard or garden space is, or if you’re growing in containers on a balcony. It’s time to harvest your growing space and take your garden from seed to plate and into delicious and nutrious meals for your family.
Join us on this journey as we grow more together, and help keep grocery costs lower.
